In order to conduct filming and obtain the necessary permits, the following is a summary of the minimum requirements that must be met. Depending on the filming locations, additional steps may be required.
WRITTEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM ALL AFFECTED BUSINESSES/RESIDENTS IS REQUIRED, INCLUDING THOSE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SAME BLOCK, FILMING IS NOT ALLOWED WITHOUT 100% IN WRITING FROM THE OWNER.
48 HOUR POSTING IS REQUIRED FOR NO PARKING, ACTUAL TIMES AND LOCATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE, PUBLIC WORKS STAFF TIME AT $80/HOUR FOR MAKING AND POSTINGS SIGNS, NUMBER OF HOURS DEPENDS ON AREA TO BE POSTED.
INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC CONTROL REQUIRES 2 TRAINED CITY EMPLOYEES AT $80/HOUR, 2 HOUR MINIMUM, NO SPLIT SHIFTS. CITY NEEDS ADEQUATE TIME FOR SCHEDULING STAFF.
THE CITY HAS AREAS THAT CAN BE USED FOR FILM CREW STAGING UPON REQUEST, THIS IS APPROVED VIA THE ENCROACHMENT PERMIT.
YOU MUST HAVE A FILM PERMIT FROM KERN COUNTY FILM COMMISSION AND THE CITY OF TAFT.
